Our Story

Chase and Ian’s love story began in 2017 while they were both college students in San Antonio, Texas. Chase was attending Trinity University, while Ian was at UTSA and living nearby. Despite being at different schools, their paths crossed, and something special sparked between them.

When the pandemic hit in 2020, life changed for everyone, but for Chase and Ian, it brought them closer together — quite literally. Chase moved off campus and into Ian’s apartment, and soon after, their little family grew. In April 2020, they brought home Truman, their lovable, floppy-eared basset hound, who quickly became the heart (and often the boss) of their home. If you know Truman, you know he’s more than a pet — he’s family.

Their next chapter took them south to the Rio Grande Valley (RGV), where Chase pursued his medical education. Living along the border gave them the opportunity to explore the vibrant beauty of Mexico, a perk they didn’t take for granted. Together, they made countless weekend trips to vibrant, mountainous city of Monterrey, had beach getaways to Cancun, Playa del Carmen & Cozumel, and most recently, spent a week in Mexico City for PRIDE. Each adventure was filled with great food, stunning views, and a shared appreciation for discovering something new. These experiences not only broadened their horizons but deepened their bond as travel companions and partners in life.

Their shared love of music has also been a defining part of their journey together. Chase and Ian enjoy music events and festivals and try to attend a couple each year. These experiences have become cherished rituals, where they can dance, connect, and celebrate life with close friends and meet new ones.

Now, they’re embarking on a new adventure. With a move back to San Antonio currently underway, Chase will graduate with his Medical Degree in May 2025 and is interviewing for psychiatry residency positions across the country to begin summer of 2025. Ian works for a healthcare technology company virtually, of which he loves, and it allows them flexibility with the big moves ahead. The future holds new cities, new chapters, and new challenges, but one thing is certain — they’ll face it all together.

From a college romance in 2017 to their wedding day at San Francisco City Hall, Chase, Ian, and Truman have built a life filled with love, adventure, and the kind of joy that only comes when you’ve found your people.
